The first time she appeared on the stage in a 1990 production of The Big Funk (John Patrick Shanley) Off-Broadway. As a character in The Perfect Tribute, she made her TV debut the following year. In 1992, she earned her breakthrough after being cast in the movie Basic Instinct as a secondary role. The Firm marked her first role as a female leading actress, opposite Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 90s, her work included working alongside top Hollywood actors like Gwyneth in Sliding Doors, Hugh Grant Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews Relative Values.
