Morgan Smith
Morgan earned his degree from Columbia College, Columbia University and Columbia University and the Mannes College of Music. In New York City he was picked to be the Seattle Opera "young artist" (1999-2000). He began his professional career at Seattle Opera in 2001 in Billy Budd. Smith is an established Seattle frequented performer and has appeared in parts in 12 other operas, including Don Giovanni, Silvio in I Pagliacci (title role), Riccardo I Puritani, Peter Niles Mourning Becomes Electra and Count Alamaviva, in Le nozze di Figaro. Regular on the stage for concerts with the Seattle Symphony, Mr. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion, and debuted with the San Antonio Symphony for the North American premiere of Vier Praludien und Ernste Gesange, Detlef Glanert's orchestral interpretation of the well-loved cycle written by Brahms. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is also on the list, as are the Requiems composed by Brahms Faure Mozart Durufle, Masses C Minor Mozart Vaughan Williams and Bach's B Minor Mass. Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro Penseroso Moderato, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Bach's B Minor Mass, many Cantatas, as well as Bach's Weihnachts Oratorium.
